US Trade Show kicks off in Dhaka
The US Trade Show began in Dhaka today with a view to showcasing American products and services in Bangladesh and giving a boost to bilateral trade.
Tipu Munshi, commerce minister of Bangladesh, and Arun Venkataraman, assistant secretary of commerce for global markets and director-general of the US and Foreign Commercial Service, jointly inaugurated the three-day trade fair at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka.
Some 44 US companies are showcasing products in 76 stalls. The show will continue until October 29.
The show is open from 10:00am to 8:00pm to visitors and entry free has been fixed at Tk 30 per person. Students in uniform or with identity cards will be allowed free entry.
The show will exhibit more than 100 US products, represented by 44 exhibitors from home and abroad, according to organisers.
The participating companies represent sectors such as energy, banking, financial services, food, beverage, cosmetics and beauty products.
The American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) and the US embassy in Dhaka jointly organised the 28th edition of the show.
