Govt’s expert panel suggests handing over Evaly case to home ministry
The government's e-commerce expert committee today recommended the commerce ministry to handover the issue of Evaly to the home ministry to investigate into the anomalies in the company and take punitive actions.
Hafizur Rahman, additional secretary to the commerce ministry, shared the information with the journalists after a meeting with the expert committee at his secretariat office in Dhaka.
The expert committee also suggested the commerce ministry to send the names of nine more e-commerce companies after the investigation based on Bangladesh Bank report to the home ministry.
Citing the lawyer's opinion, Rahman said the ministry can not conduct audit against any private company as the central bank requested the ministry to conduct audit into the nine e-commerce companies.
