Range Rover of Evaly’s Rassel sold in auction at Tk 1.81 crore
The Range Rover, a luxurious vehicle used by Evaly's former Chief Executive Mohammad Rassel, was sold at Tk 1.81 crore at an auction in the capital's Dhanmondi today.
In addition, six vehicles were sold at the auction organised by the board of directors of Evaly appointed by the High Court, said retired Justice of the Appellate Division AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury Manik, chairman of the board.
The HC formed the five-member board led by Justice Manik after Evaly's CEO and his wife Shamima Nasrin, also the chairman of the company, got arrested in mid-September on various charges, including fraud.
The new board took charge of Evaly's management on October 16.
The board carried out the auction in order to get some fund to repay the Evaly's affected customers and product suppliers.
The auction of cars fetched a total of Tk 2.9 crore.
"We have conducted the auction in line with the directive of the High Court," said Justice Manik.
Additional Registrar of the Supreme Court Abdur Rahman and Deputy Registrar Mizanur Rahman oversaw the auction.
