Refiners today cut the price of bottled soybean oil by Tk 14 per litre to Tk 178.

The new price will be effective from tomorrow, the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association said in a press release.

The association took the decision in a meeting with the Prime Minister's Private Sector Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman and Prime Minister's Office Senior Secretary Tofazzal Hossain Mia.

As per the new rate, the price of a five-litre container of soybean oil will cost Tk 880 while the price of loose soybean oil will be Tk 158 per litre.

Currently, one litre of bottled soybean is selling at Tk 192 and loose soybean oil at Tk 175.
