Stocks edge up in early trading
Stocks saw a slight uptick this morning following two days of decline amid cautious trading by investors.
DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose by 0.06 percent by 11 am.
It gained 3.19 points to reach 5303.25.
Among the shares, 171 issues advanced, 122 declined, and 73 remained unchanged.
The DSE recorded a total turnover of Tk 134.39 crore until 11 am.
Nitol Insurance Co and Provati Insurance Company led the gains, each rising over 9 percent.
Conversely, Sonali Aansh Industries experienced the biggest drop, falling over 11 percent.
The CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) declined by 0.17 percent, shedding 26.65 points to settle at 14790.29.
