Stocks see early gains
Stocks recorded gains in the morning trade today, recovering from the fall yesterday.
DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose 0.43 percent in the first hour of trading.
As of 11:06 am, it gained 22.91 points to reach 5321.27.
This recovery comes after yesterday's decline driven by poor performance from Islami Bank Bangladesh and large-cap stocks amid sales pressure.
Of the issues traded, 182 advanced, 103 declined, and 90 remained unchanged.
Total turnover stood at Tk 127.62 crore.
Zeal Bangla Sugar Mills Ltd led the gains, rising over 9 percent, while Anwar Galvanizing Ltd experienced the largest drop, shedding over 6 percent.
Meanwhile, the CSE All Share Price Index (CASPI) fell by 0.03 percent, losing 4.75 points to settle at 14803.38.
