TikTok appoints Ferdous Mottakin as its South Asia lead for govt relations, public policy

Ferdous Mottakin

Ferdous Mottakin, an information technology engineer and public policy expert from Bangladesh, has recently been appointed as the government relations and public policy lead for South Asia at TikTok, the global short video platform.

He is also working closely with the governments of South Asian countries, including Bangladesh, to ensure proper use of this platform, especially for the young generation.

Prior to joining the role, he was the government and public relations manager for Bangladesh at TikTok.

He obtained his bachelor's degree from the Simon Fraser University in electrical and electronics engineering.

He also worked at GSMA, a global organisation of operators and other service providers in the mobile telecommunication sector, tower company edotco and global tech giant Huawei in different capacities.
