Canada Bangladesh Alumni Association celebrates Winter Social 2024

The Canada Bangladesh Alumni Association (CBAA) hosted its Winter Social 2024 on Wednesday at The Canada Club, Baridhara in Dhaka celebrating the spirit of collaboration, creativity, and cultural exchange, reaffirming the association's commitment to building bridges between Bangladesh and Canada.

The event brought together alumni and friends for an evening of camaraderie, inspiration, and cultural celebration, further strengthening the ties between Bangladesh and Canada.

The evening began with opening remarks from Saiful Islam, Vice-President of CBAA, and Shayaan Seraj, Secretary General, who welcomed attendees and shared the association's vision of fostering meaningful alumni connections.

Ajit Singh, High Commissioner for Canada to Bangladesh, delivered a compelling keynote address, reflecting on the shared history and growing bonds between Canada and Bangladesh, while emphasizing the importance of alumni networks in nurturing bilateral relationships.

A highlight of the event was the teaser presentation of Art of Triumph by co-producers Anis Zaman, Tawfiq Bari, Tajrina Mannan, and Shayaan Seraj. This groundbreaking photobook showcased the revolutionary spirit of Bangladesh's July Revolution through powerful street art, emphasizing themes of resilience, hope, and justice.

The Chief Guest, Lamiya Morshed, Principal Coordinator for SDGs at the Government of Bangladesh, delivered an inspiring message on sustainable development, culture, and the significance of partnerships in achieving Bangladesh's development goals.

The evening concluded with live musical performances by Bengali pop musician Shitom Ahmed and young artist Siam Ahmed.

Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed networking opportunities and refreshments, fostering connections and shared memories among Canada-Bangladesh alumni and friends.
