Kaspersky, Robi partner to offer premium cybersecurity to mobile users

Robi Axiata PLC has partnered with Russian cybersecurity firm Kaspersky and local distributor ICT Distribution to launch a premium mobile security service for Robi and Airtel subscribers in Bangladesh, aiming to boost consumer protection in a rapidly digitising economy.
The companies unveiled the service, Kaspersky Premium, at an event in Dhaka's Renaissance Hotel, marking a move to integrate advanced threat protection into mobile billing systems.
The partnership reflects growing demand for digital security in Bangladesh, where mobile internet penetration continues to accelerate and cyber threats are on the rise.
The service targets users at risk of malware, phishing, and ransomware attacks, offering tools for identity protection, real-time monitoring, and parental controls. Subscriptions will be integrated directly into Robi and Airtel's billing platforms for ease of access.
"This is more than a product launch — it's about empowering users to explore the digital world securely," said Shihab Ahmed, Chief Commercial Officer at Robi. He emphasized the company's focus on safe and smart connectivity amid the country's digital transformation.
Kaspersky executives said the collaboration is part of the firm's broader strategy to expand in high-growth digital markets. "Bangladesh's fast-evolving internet landscape demands robust, scalable security solutions," said Choon Hong Chee, Head of Consumer Channel, APJ at Kaspersky.
Ali Obaid, Chairman of ICT Distribution, said the partnership demonstrates how global cybersecurity solutions can be localized for emerging markets, calling the integration across Robi and Airtel networks a "benchmark for mobile cybersecurity in South Asia."
The companies said the service is now live and accessible via mobile and web platforms.
