The Bangladesh Open Water Swimming (BOAS) hosted "Pahar Theke Dot Com Kutubdia Channel Swimming 2025" recently.

This year, the event saw the participation of 15 swimmers who undertook the challenging journey from Magnama Ghat in Pekua upazila to Barakup Ghat in Kutubdia -- a 4-kilometre swim across the Kutubdia Channel.

The event was inaugurated by BOAS advisor Shimul Chowdhury.

Saiful Islam Russel emerged as the winner, completing the swim in a record time of 1 hour and 25 minutes. The list of other participants included Md Mahmudul Hasan, Md Zahidul Islam Zahid, SM Shahriar Mahmud, Shahnewaz Babu, Md Abdul Matin, Ali Raunak (Sourav), Md Shahidullah Bagmar Prantik, Md Habibur Rahman, Md Jihad Hossain, Sharif Md Faisal, Nasir Ahmed Sourav, Md Shakhawat Hossain Sakib, and Md Faisal Zia.The event was sponsored by "Pahar Theke Dot Com" as the title sponsor, while Cox's Bazar Triathlete served as the rescue partner.
