The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Global has appointed Md. Sabur Khan as its chairman, marking a significant milestone for the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

With this appointment, GEN Bangladesh will now work to position Bangladeshi startups, innovators, and entrepreneurial-minded individuals within the global entrepreneurship network, connecting them with GEN Global's extensive resources, programs, and collaborations worldwide.

The appointment has been endorsed by Jonathan Ortmans, president of GEN Global, who recognises Bangladesh's increasing role in the global entrepreneurial landscape.

Additionally, Peter Komives of GEN Global will join GEN Bangladesh as the senior vice president, working closely with Sabur Khan to develop a strong and globally connected entrepreneurship ecosystem in Bangladesh.

As the officially registered GEN chapter in Bangladesh, GEN Bangladesh will focus on strengthening the startup ecosystem by connecting Bangladeshi startups with global networks, investments, and mentorship. It will enhance global connectivity by linking entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers with international opportunities. The organization aims to expand Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) activities across Bangladesh while also providing access to GEN programs such as GEN Accelerates, GEN Invest, Startup Huddle, EWC, and GEC. Additionally, GEN Bangladesh will engage in policy and research advocacy, collaborating with policymakers to foster an entrepreneur-friendly environment.

His leadership at GEN Bangladesh signals a new commitment to integrating Bangladesh's startup ecosystem with global networks.

In his reaction as the chairman of GEN Bangladesh, Sabur Khan said, "Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business—it's about innovation, resilience, and the power to transform societies. GEN Bangladesh will ensure that young entrepreneurs in Bangladesh are globally connected and have access to the right resources to scale their businesses. With the support of GEN Global, we aim to make Bangladesh one of the strongest entrepreneurship hubs in South Asia."

With strong leadership and international collaboration, GEN Bangladesh is set to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs and position the country as a key player in the global startup landscape.

Jonathan Ortmans, President of GEN Global, has expressed his strong endorsement of Mr. Khan's appointment and the official registration of GEN Bangladesh. "Bangladesh has enormous entrepreneurial potential, and now, with GEN Bangladesh officially registered and under strong leadership, we expect to see a new wave of entrepreneurial innovation emerging from the country," said Ortmans.
