Walton wins ‘SAFA Gold Award’ for third time
Global electronics brand 'Walton' secured the 'Gold Award' from the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA) for the third time.
For its 'Best Presented Annual Reports 2023', Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC was honoured by SAFA's with 'Joint Gold Award' in the manufacturing category.
The award giving ceremony titled - 'SAFA Best Presented Annual Report Awards', 'Integrated Reporting Award' and 'SAARC Anniversary Award' was held at Hotel Cinnamon Lakeside in Colombo, Sri Lanka on November 11.
Walton Hi-Tech's Additional Managing Director (AMD) and Chief Financial Officer Md. Ziaul Alam, FCA, ACA (ICAEW) and Deputy Company Secretary Md. Enamul Haq, FCS, received the 'Gold Award' from SAFA's President Heshana Kuruppu at the programme.
The award giving ceremony was also attended, among others, by Sri Lank's Central Bank Governor Dr. P. Nandalal Weerasinghe, SAFA's Permanent Secretary Jai Kumar Batra, Walton Global Business Unit's Vice-President Abdur Rouf and high officials from different organisations of the SAARC nations.
While expressing his reaction on winning the award, Walton Hi-Tech's AMD and CFO Md. Ziaul Alam said, "Achievement of any award is always prestigious for an organisation. Walton is doing business transparently and accountably maintaining international reporting standards as well as domestic rules and regulations. Achieving the 'SAFA Gold Award' is the proof of that. On behalf of Walton family, thanked the authorities concerned of SAFA for honouring us with the gold award. It's a great achievement for Walton and the Bangladesh as well."
SAFA is dedicated to the improvement in transparency, accountability and governance for companies in the South Asian region. Thus, every year SAFA awards the companies which have achieved excellence in presentation and disclosure of high quality, relevant, reliable and objective financial statements in accordance with the international framework. Thus, SAFA this year also honoured Walton with gold award like the previous years.
