CPA warns employees on posting internal issues on social media, talking to news outlets

Chittagong Port Authority today issued a warning for its staff against uploading internal documents, posting comments about its internal issues on the social media as well as talking to news outlets.

Otherwise, it warned of taking legal step, according to a notice signed by CPA Director (Admin) Md Mominur Rashid issued today.

It the notice, CPA mentioned that some of its staff are uploading and posting photos and confidential documents of CPA's internal affairs and commenting and reacting on social media, and also giving comments and political speech to different news media violating CPA Employees Service Rule, 1991.

Terming such activities as "violation of discipline", it said according to the Service Rule, no employee can contact with any newspapers or news media without prior permission from competent authority.

The CPA urged its employees to be cautious in such acts otherwise it would take action according to the Service Rule and country's law.

Confirming the issuance of the notice, CPA Secretary Md Omar Faruk said some CPA employees are uploading confidential documents on different internal decisions on social media and trying to instigate other employees against such decisions.
