Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology hosts 11th convocation
Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) organised its 11th Convocation on July 24. The ceremony was held at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), Dhaka. Dr Dipu Moni, Honourable Minister of Education, presided over the ceremony on behalf of the Chancellor of AUST and Honourable President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. She conferred graduate and post-graduate degrees to 2,238 students from different disciplines. In recognition of exceptional academic achievements, three students were awarded Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah Padak.
Dr Dipu Moni congratulated the new graduates as well as their families. Addressing the young graduates, she said, "I am optimistic that the youngsters who are graduating today will make an effort to fulfill their obligations to their families, society, country, and the world at large in addition to establishing their own lives.
VC of AUST Prof. Dr Fazli Ilahi praised all graduates for their academic accomplishments. "The goal of this university has been to develop graduates who can handle the domestic and international issues. AUST engineers are in high demand in the domestic and international development industries as a result of this university's efforts to work as a centre of excellence." Professor Fazli Ilahi hoped that graduates will dedicate themselves for all-out improvements for our country and humanity.
Prof. Dr Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation council, graced the occasion as Convocation Speaker. He expected that the graduates of AUST would overcome every challenge of life through honesty, tolerance, perseverance, and kindness, and take part in building our country as a developed nation.
Prof. Dr Muhammad Alamgir, Member, University Grants Commission, attended as the chief guest. He extended best wishes to the graduating students and applauded the university authorities for their ongoing efforts to raise the standard education.
Mr. Kazi Rafiqul Alam, Chairman, Board of Trustees, AUST, expressed his greetings to the graduates and said, "It is my firm belief that those who have completed the preparatory phase of life and started their journey to the wider world today in the 11th convocation festival will make a significant contribution to the overall prosperity of the country and the nation."
Prof. Dr Abu Tweb Abu Ahmed, Vice-Chairman, Board of Trustees, Members of the Board of Trustees, Treasurer, AUST, Deans of the Faculties, AUST, Heads of all disciplines, distinguished Vice-Chancellors of other universities, Members of the AUST Syndicate, Academic Council, Finance and Development Committee, teachers, officers, parents, and guardians of the graduating students were present in the event. Prof. Dr Mohammad Hamidur Rahman Khan, the Registrar in charge of AUST, delivered the closing remarks.
