Going Green
The fourth edition of the three-day “National Vegetable Fair-2019” kicked off at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the city's Farmgate area. Over 70 stalls were set up to offer the best greens the country has to offer. A bountiful country when it comes to vegetables, the gifts of the land were displayed in colourful exhibits. The main theme of this year's fair was Nirapad Sabji Karbo Chash, Pusti Milbe Baro Mash, meaning the focus was on safe cultivation of vegetables to make nutritious vegetables available the year around. It was hoped that the fair would play a positive role in changing the daily food habit of the country's people.
