Rawhide Trade
EID-UL-AZHA is a time when young men of neighbourhoods venture into the trade of rawhide. They buy the hide from thousands of people who have sacrificed animals and sell those to hide processors in Hazaribagh, Lalbagh, and Posta to make money. This year, however, has not been a good year for those small entrepreneurs. When they went to sell the hides, they discovered that processors were not willing to pay them more than two-thirds of the price they bought the hides for. Many suffered huge losses this Eid. The photos were taken from across the capital on Eid day and the day after.
