11 benches formed for cases during HC vacation
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has constituted 11 High Court benches for hearing and disposing of the urgent cases during the ongoing annual vacation.
Both the Appellate and High Court Divisions of the SC went to a three-week annual vacation today and they will reopen on June 24.
Among the 11 vacation benches of the HC, six are two-member (division) benches and five are one-member (single bench). They will deal with the urgent cases from 11:00am to 1:15pm during their scheduled working days, according to a HC circular published on the SC website.
Besides, the chief justice has nominated Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, a judge of the Appellate Division, as its chamber judge for dealing with urgent matters of the apex court during the vacation.
Justice Hasan Foez Siddique will hold hearing of the cases since 11:00am on June 6, 13 and 20, according to an apex court circular.
