Clash with traders: 23 held from Dhaka College
Police in a raid detained 23 people from the dormitories of Dhaka College in the city from Monday night to early Tuesday.
Ruhul Amin, assistant commissioner of police (Dhanmondi Zone), said a team of police of New Market Police Station conducted the raid.
Of the arrested, 10 were outsiders while the rest 13 students of the college did not have permission to stay in the dormitories, the police official added.
Ruhul also said further decision will be taken after the meeting with the college authorities on Tuesday noon.
While asked whether police conducted the raid following the clash between traders of New Market area and students of Dhaka College, the ACP replied in the negative and said it was a pre-planned raid.
