2 burnt in Bangshal shoe factory fire

At least two workers were burnt as a fire broke out at a shoe manufacturing factory in Bangshal area of Dhaka early today.
The injured -- Alauddin Ahmed and Rabin Hossain – were admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Kuddus Fakir, officer-in-charge of Bangshal Police Station told The Daily Star.
The fire originated at the factory at Siddique Bazar in the area around 3:00am from an electric short circuit, the OC said.
Alauddin suffered 40 percent burn injuries while Rabin 17 percent, the police official added.
The factory workers doused the fire with their own efforts. The extent of damage however could not be known immediately, he added.
