2 ‘JMB militants’ held in Rajshahi

Law enforcers claimed arrest of two alleged members of the banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) in Rajshahi city early today.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) also claimed to have recovered explosives from the possession of the arrestees.

Atiullah, 22, of Gaibandha, and Maksedul Islam, 23, of Dinajpur, members of the militant outfit, our Rajshahi correspondent reports quoting Nure Alam, assistant superintendent of police (ASP) in Rab-5, of Rajshahi.

“They were arrested from the city’s Kashiadanga area around 2:30am when they got down from a passenger bus coming from Dhaka,” the ASP added.

They were being interrogated at local Rab camp and will be handed over to police later, the ASP also said.
