3 of a family burnt in fire from leaked gas in Dhaka
Three members of a family were severely burnt in a fire that broke out due to gas pipe leakage at their house in Wari area of the capital early today.
The victims Alamgir Hossain, 55, with 95 percent burn injuries, his wife Hosne Ara, 45, with 40 percent burn and their daughter Shamrin Alam, 20, with 30 percent burn are now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The conditions of the husband and wife are stated to be critical, DMCH burn unit sources told The Daily Star.
Through the leakage, gas seeped into the house and the fire broke out when Hosne Ara lighted the gas burner around 12:30am, Abdus Sattar, brother of the victim, told The Daily Star.
The fire broke out due to a leak of gas pipe line there, said Tapan Chandra Shaha, officer-in-charge of Wari Police Station.
