3 teachers suspended for carrying smartphones
Education ministry today suspended three college teachers in Dhaka for carrying smartphones while bringing question papers from the treasury.
They were also asked to show cause why their monthly pay order (MPO) facilities will not be permanently scrapped, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
The ministry today instructed Dhaka Education Board to take necessary steps in this regard.
The three teachers are: Abdur Rashid, associate professor at Habibullah Bahar College, Naima Nasrin, lecturer of Mohakhali T&T College, and Mahabubur Rahman, a lecturer of the same college.
Earlier, Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid told reporters that the three teachers were identified with smartphones. Smartphones in all HSC test centres have been prohibited to prevent question paper leakage since last year.
There have been allegations of question leak in the SSC and HSC examinations in the past several years. In most of the cases, questions were leaked allegedly on Facebook pages and through SMS.
