6 held over killing, snatching in Dhaka
Detectives have arrested six persons allegedly involved in separate incidents of killing and snatching in Dhaka.
The six were arrested when they were taking preparation for committing a robbery at Munshibari in Badda area around 5:00pm yesterday, a press release of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said today.
The arrestees are Md Omor Faruk alias Al Amin, Pabitra Samaddar, Md Rakib, Zahirul Islam alias Zakir, Rifat Hossain and Zakir Hossain.
In primary investigation, the six admitted that they shot Selim Akhtar, 30, an accountant of private company Aquamarine Distribution Ltd, and snatched Tk 33.27 lakh from him in Moghbazar of Dhaka on May 24, the press release said.
Among the gang members, Al-Amin, Zahirul Islam, Md Rakib along with some unknown miscreants shot one Rubel Hossain at Rampura in the capital on May 8. Doctors declared him dead when he was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, it added.
