Another Wari burn victim dies at DMCH

A teenager, who suffered burn injuries in a fire at a hostel in Wari area of Dhaka, died at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital this morning.

Shahidul, 17, died at the burn unit of the hospital, said Jihad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Wari Police Station.

On December 10, a person named Suman died and two others including Shahidul were injured critically in the fire.

Suman died soon after the incident while injured – Shahidul and Shakil were undergoing treatment at the hospital. The victims were asleep when the fire broke out at the hostel in Narinda of Wari, according to locals.

The reason for the fire could not be known immediately. But police suspected it was an arson attack as when they reached the spot a little after the incident, they found the door to their room locked from the outside.
