MP Habibur Rahman Mollah passes away
Awami League MP Habibur Rahman Mollah died at a hospital in Dhaka this morning. He was 78.
The lawmaker from Dhaka-5 (Jatrabari-Sutrapur) was being treated at Square Hospitals since April 25 for kidney complications.
He was undergoing regular kidney dialysis, his son Masudur Rahman Mollah told The Daily Star.
Habibur also suffered two heart attacks within the last few days, he added.
He was on life support since last night. Doctors declared him dead at around 9:50am today, he said.
He will be buried at Matuail graveyard in the city after the Zuhr prayers.
Habibur Rahman Mollah, who became an MP for the fourth time, was born at Jatrabari, Dhaka on January 27, 1942, according to his biography published by the parliament secretariat.
He was survived by his wife, three sons, three daughters and a host of relatives, friends, and well-wishers to mourn his death.
