The charge sheet in blogger Avijit Roy murder case will be submitted next month, according to a high police official.

"We will submit the charge sheet of the case to the court after completing all necessary formalities accusing 10 people of which three have already been confessed their involvement in the killing," Md Monirul Islam, Chief of the Counter-Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) today told BSS.

Those who gave confessional statements before the court are-Shahriar alias Saymon, a computer engineering graduate from the Sylhet University of Science and Technology (SUST), Abu Siddique alias Sohel and Arafat Hossain alias Shams.

"All the three accused narrated the whole story of the killing including planning, motivation, training and execution and disclosed the names of 10 people including Farabi, an abettor who instigated the killers through Facebook campaign," the CTTC chief said.

Major Zia and three others who gave confessional statement to the court were seen in the video footage before and the day of the killing of Avijit Roy, Monirul who is also an Additional Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) added.

"Police so far arrested four accused and identified sacked Major Zia, one Akram Hossain of Dhaka, Mukul Rana, a BA Honours student of Jashore and Selim after scrutinizing the close circuit cameras (CCC) set up in and outside the Bangla Academy," Md Saiful Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the CTTC told BSS.

Mukul Rana was killed in an encounter with Rab in Jashore in 2016 and fugitive Akram has already been charged with another blogger Ashiqur murder case, Saiful said adding that they are trying to nab two more accused of the killing.

‘যুবকরা এখনো জানে না ভোট কী। আমাদের আওয়ামী লীগের ভাইরা ভোটটা দিয়েছেন, বলে দিয়েছেন—তোরা আসিবার দরকার নাই, মুই দিয়ে দিনু। স্লোগান ছিল—আমার ভোট আমি দিব, তোমার ভোটও আমি দিব।’
