Banker ‘killed by ex-husband’ in Dhaka
A woman was brutally hacked to death under broad daylight, allegedly by her ex-husband, near her Central Road house in Dhaka this morning.
Deceased Arifun Nesa Arifa, 27, used to work in a private bank in Paltan.
Her elder brother Al-Amin Bulbul alleged that her former husband Robin hacked her to death.
The couple had a divorce in December. Since then, Robin had been threatening her, Bulbul said. “This morning, Robin waylaid her on her way to office and hacked her. He fled.”
She was rushed to Central Hospital in critical condition and later moved to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where she succumbed.
There were deep gashes on the head, hand and neck of the victim, Bachchu Mia, in-charge sub-inspector of the hospital, told The Daily Star. The body was kept in the medical morgue.
The process of a lawsuit was underway.
