BNP leaders Joynal Abdin, Bulu get bail in criminal cases

The High Court today granted bail to BNP leaders Joynal Abdin Farooque and Barkatullah Bulu in three separate criminal cases.

Farooque got bail in an arson case filed with Paltan Police Station on January 6, 2015 whilst Barkatullah Bulu secured bail in two other cases filed with Mohammadpur and Jatrabari Police Station in 2015.

The High Court bench of Justice Md Rezaul Haque and Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar granted them bail for six months after hearing three separate petitions filed by the accused seeking bail in the cases.

Barrister Saqed Mahbub, a lawyer for both the leaders, told The Daily Star that his clients cannot get released from jail following the High Court order as they have been shown arrested in other cases.
