British Bengali journalists to be honoured annually
Nadeem Qadir, minister (press), Bangladesh High Commission in London announced the launching of a project “Amar Jonmobhumi” to honour the British Bengali journalists at a press briefing on Friday at a café in East London.
He said two journalists will be taken to Bangladesh annually to visit the media houses, including Jatiya Press Club and meet the prime minister and other government officials. The project involves the press wing at London's high commission, Bangladesh's information ministry, IPO, PID, Jatiya Press Club and Bangladesh Sangbad Sangtha.
Adnan Imam, managing director of the UK based IPE Group, the main sponsor of the programme, was also present.
