Businessman stabbed, robbed in Dhaka

Muggers stabbed a businessman and snatched Tk 8,000 and two mobile phone sets from him in Sayedabad area of Dhaka early today.
Jahangir Alam is now undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting Inspector Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
A resident and businessman of Bangshal, Jahangir came under the attack around 5:30am when he reached near Sayedabad bus stand by a rickshaw, the daily reports quoting the victim.
A gang of muggers, wielding sharp weapons, intercepted his rickshaw, snatched two mobile sets and Tk 8,000 from him. They stabbed the businessman before leaving the scene, the victim said.
Jahangir went to the bus stand to go to Laxmipur.
