A couple was wounded as unidentified miscreants opened fire in broad daylight in the old part of Dhaka city this afternoon.

Habul Sardar, 40, and his wife Rina Akhter, 35, were shot by unidentified miscreants in Rothkhola area around 4:00pm, Sentu Das, an assistant sub-inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, told The Daily Star.

The victims are residents of Dholaikhal area, and both of them are day labourers, the ASI informed.

They were taken to the DMCH following the incident.

Habulsuffered bullet wounds in his right arm, while Rina in her shoulder, the law enforcer said.
