Derailment halts Dhaka-Narayanganj train service
The rail communication between Dhaka and Narayanganj remain suspended following a derailment of a Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) train in Fatullah of Narayanganj this afternoon.
The four wheels of the Narayanganj-bound Narayanganj Commuter-4 veered off the tracks near Pagla Railway Station around 11:55 pm, suspending train service in the route, said M Ali Akbar, sub-inspector of Government Railway Police Station in Narayanganj.
On information, railway officials started working to salvage the train, M Ali Akbar, told our local correspondent.
Meanwhile, the schedules of four trains on the route have been changed following the derailment, causing sufferings to the commuters, said Golam Mostafa, station master of Narayanganj central railway station.
