Dhaka councillor sued for shooting bus owner
A Dhaka-based ward councillor has been sued for allegedly shooting a bus owner in Mirpur.
Abu Taher, councillor of ward-10, shot bus owner Shahjahan, 35, over a trivial matter, said Fakhrul Alam, inspector (investigation) of Darussalam Police Station.
The incident took place last night in Dhaka city’s Darussalam area. The bus owner is currently under treatment at National Institute of Trauma and Orthopedic Rehabilitation.
Victim’s brother, Shamim, filed a case with Darussalam Police station in this regard. The ward councillor is currently on the run, according to police.
