Dutch Queen due tomorrow morning
Queen of the Netherlands Máxima Zorreguieta Cerruti will arrive in Dhaka tomorrow morning on a three-day visit to Bangladesh to support global efforts to alleviate poverty, achieve economic development and women empowerment.
She is coming upon invitation of the Bangladesh government in her capacity as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).
“The visit to Bangladesh is part of Queen Máxima’s global efforts to raise awareness and foster action towards financial inclusion for everyone,” said a press release of the UNDP today.
During her stay in Bangladesh, Queen Máxima is scheduled to meet with President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr Atiur Rahman, as well as other senior officials of the Bangladesh government, development partners, members of civil society and the private sector.
