Filing false cases is ‘evil culture’: Law minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq today termed the trend of filing false cases to cause harassment as “evil culture”.

The minister was addressing a programme as chief guest organised by Manusher Jonno Foundation at CIRDAP auditorium in Dhaka.

“I want to come out of this bad culture,” Anisul said.

The pile of cases will increase further if the practice is not changed, the minister said, urging combined efforts to change people’s mindset.

“It is difficult for the government alone to make this happen.”

“In many new laws, there is a provision for punishment for filing false cases,” he informed.
