Security plan drafted for Mother Language Day
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has drafted out plans for security measures during the International Mother Language Day on February 21.
The decision came from a meeting at DMP’s headquarters with Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia in the chair, a press release issued by the DMP said today.
Decisions taken in the meeting includes deployment of law enforcers, archways on entry gates to Central Shaheed Minar, frisking commoners, CCTV surveillance and keeping bomb disposal and dog squads at the ready around the convergence premises.
Dhaka University proctor, high officials of DMP and representatives from different intelligence units, Dhaka South City Corporation, Fire Service, health ministry and Cultural ministry officials were present at the meeting.
All kinds of vehicles will be stopped inside the Dhaka University area from 6:00pm on February 20 to 6:00pm on February 21, added the release.
