Over 30 illegal establishments evicted outside JnU campus
Students of Jagannath University (JnU) today evicted at least 30 illegal establishments including a human hauler stand outside the campus.
Around 300 students demolished more than 30 makeshift shops and a Leguna stand between 10:30am and 11:30am, reports our JnU correspondent.
Md Raisul Islam Nayan, a student at marketing department of the university, told the correspondent that the shops have occupied area nearby the campus illegally for a long.
“Despite our repeated warnings, the grabbers did not pay any heed to remove the establishments, forcing them to demolish those,” added the students.
“We are removing our stand as the JnU students do not want it here,” said Abdus Salam Dhali, president of Bahadur Shah Paribahan Malik Samity.
The university authorities are with the students in this regard, JnU Proctor Mostafa Kamal said.
Later, the students brought out a procession on the campus in this connection.
