JnU female student loses legs under wheels of train
A female student of Jagannath University has lost both her legs as a rail engine ran her over at Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka today.
The victim, Rubina Akter, 22, a final-year student of social welfare department, was crossing the rail lines from platform-4 to platform-5 when a rail engine ran over her around 1:15 pm, said Yasin Faruq, officer-in-charge of Kamalapur Railway Police Station.
She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), the police official said.
Rubina, daughter of late Robiul Islam of Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh, went to the railway station from her mess in Sadarghat area to get in a Panchagarh-bound train, said Sabikul Islam, a classmate of Rubina.
