Madrasa student ‘killer’ held from Sadarghat

Law enforcers today arrested the youth who is allegedly behind the chilling murder of a madrasa student in Dhaka’s Gulistan last Saturday.

Arrestee, Bakar, 16, was held from Sadarghat in Dhaka around 9:00am, Abdul Karim, operation officer of Rapid Action Battalion-3, told The Daily Star.

“He went to Barisal after murder. Then he returned to Dhaka and probably was planning to go somewhere else. We caught him when he entered Dhaka,” he said.

Bakar allegedly slit the throat of his madrasa mate Zidan, 12, in his sleep at Madinatul Ulum Madrasa and dumped his body in a septic tank before fleeing.
