“Later, based on the information from Babul, eight more foreign-made firearms and a huge cache of ammunition were recovered from his residence at Churkhai area under Mymensingh Sadar upazila” the inspector told The Daily Star.
Md Ali Babul is the owner of “Netrokona Arms”, a legal firearms shop at Netrokona, the inspector said.

Babul is a part of the gang that sells foreign firearms to criminals illegally, Mesbah Uddin said.
He belongs to the same gang as musician AKM Sahabuddin Khan and doctor Jahidul Alam Kadir who were arrested from Mymensingh on charge of selling and possessing illegal firearms on May 9 and June 31 respectively, Mesbah Uddin was quoted as saying.
During the primary interrogation, Babul admitted to buying and selling illegal arms despite having legal dealership, according to a press release issued by the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
Most of the recovered arms were supposed to go to the robber gangs of Sundarbans via another dealer in Khulna, the DMP press release added.
