2 workers die falling off 10-storied building in Ctg
Two teenage workers today died falling off a 10-storied under-construction building in Halishahar area of Chittagong city.
The deceased construction workers were identified as Md Kaosar, 17, son of Abu Taleb, and Md Tofajjal, 18, son of Md Jashim, both hailing from Nighli area of Kishoreganj district, our Chittagong correspondent reports quoting Shilbrata Barua, duty officer at Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost.
The duo fell off the top floor of the building which is being constructed by Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) inside its compound at around 6:45pm this evening, said Assistant Commissioner (AC) Ashikur Rahman of Double Mooring zone of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP).
They were rushed to CMCH where the on duty doctors declared them dead, he added.
Mahfuzur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Halishahar Police Station, said the workers were provided with safety gears.
It is still unclear how the workers fell off the building even after having safety gears, he said.
