CU student held on charge of rape

A student of Chittagong University has been arrested on charge of raping a female student of the same university.

Police arrested Md Kaikobad, 22, a master’s student of CU Dramatics department, from the university campus yesterday afternoon following a case filed against him by the victim with Hathazari Model Police Station Tuesday night, our CU correspondent reports quoting police.

Contacted, Rajib Sharma, inspector (investigation) of Hathazari Model Police Station, said police arrested Kaikobad following the complaint of the girl, a fourth-year student of the university.

The alleged rapist was a former performer of Indian reality show Mirakkel, the police official added.
