Fire at Indira Road carton factory

A fire broke out at a carton manufacturing company on Indira road in Dhaka this noon.

The fire originated at Razzak Packaging Factory around 12:34pm, according to fire service control room.

On information, six firefighting units rushed to the spot and doused the flame around 2:45pm, Ershad Hossain, duty officer of fire service control room, told The Daily Star.

The residents living at nearby houses have been evacuated.

As the factory is located in the midst of a crowded residential area, the fire creates panic among the residents. They said despite repeated requests to the authorities concerned, the factory has not been relocated.
