KMCH's lone CT scan machine inoperative
A number of medical equipments at Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) have been lying out of order, causing disruption to health services.
The equipments, including the hospital's lone CT (computed tomography) scan machine, need immediate repair.
The CT scan machine has remained inoperative since January 7 and patients are forced to receive services from privately-run expensive diagnostic centres.
As patients are facing untold sufferings for the inoperative equipment, the radiology department is also facing problems.
The radiology department sources said many of their machines have been lying useless after damage.
According to the authorities, more than 200 equipments have been declared inoperative and 35 fully damaged.
The damaged machines include ICU monitor, ventilator, anaesthesia machine, ECG machine and many more.
Dr Ananda Mohon Saha, superintendent of KMCH, said people concerned have been informed and they will repair the machines within a day or two.
