Louis Kahn's final drawing collected
The government already collected American architect Louis I Kahn's final drawing inventory from the US to restore Jatiya Sangsad Complex's original design, Housing and Public Works Minister Mosharraf Hossain told parliament yesterday.
Last year, he told the House that Chandrima Udyan, and the sites of the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre, and the Planning Commission were parts of Kahn's original design where no space had been allocated for graves. BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and six others were buried in the complex area.
Food Minister Qamrul Islam called upon lawmakers to keep vigil on Qawmi madrasas so that militancy could not rise in the name of teaching. He said the government has taken various measures, including modernisation of their curricula, to bring the madrasas under its control as some of them were breeding terrorism in the country.
