An accused who was arrested on Wednesday in a drug peddling case died yesterday at Chittagong Medical College Hospital while undergoing treatment in police custody.

The deceased Imam Hossain, 42, of Boalkhali upazila was admitted to the hospital on Thursday for having health complications resulted from taking excessive alcohol, claimed police.

The reason of the death was mentioned as complications due to taking alcohol, hospital sources said.
