Renowned Professor Ajoy Roy, father of slain blogger Avijit Roy, has passed away.

Prof Roy breathed his last at 12:35pm at ICU of BIRDEM in Dhaka, Brigadier General (retd) Shahidul Hoque Mallik, director of the hospital, told The Daily Star this afternoon.
