SBMCH employees demonstrate against recruitment halt
Class III and IV employees of Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) held agitation on the hospital premises yesterday morning after health ministry postponed recruitment of 226 posts when allegations of recruitment scam was discovered.
Police charged baton on the procession and detained two employees.
"We were hired through the process of recruitment but health ministry suspended the process. So we opposed and held a rally but police charged baton on us," said Swapan, one of the appointees.
Contacted, Shakhawat Hossain, officer-in-charge of Barisal Kotwali Model Police Station said, "Employees started the rally and situation got tensed, we had to bring it under control."
