PM stands by filmmaker Amjad Hossain
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the responsibility for medical treatment of critically ill eminent film director Amjad Hossain.
“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the responsibility for the treatment of ‘Ekushey Padak’-winning filmmaker Amjad Hossain after talking to his two sons at her office here this afternoon,” PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam Khokan told BSS.
He said the prime minister invited Amjad Hossain’s sons – Sajjad Hossain Dodul and Sohel Arman – to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to know the latest physical condition of the film director who suffered a stroke at his residence on Sunday.
“After knowing the health condition from them, the prime minister has taken the responsibility for treatment of Amzad Hossain,” Khokan said.
Film director SA Haque Olik was present on the occasion.
Sohel Arman told reporters that the prime minister had taken full responsibility for treatment of his father at home or abroad.
Amjad Hossain, who also won the National Film Awards for a number of times, is now undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Impulse Hospital at Tejgaon in the capital.
