3 ‘militants’ held in Dhaka, N’ganj

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today claimed arrest of three members of banned militant outfits in two separate drives in Dhaka and Narayanganj.
Two active members of Sarowar-Tamim group of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) were arrested in Rupganj of Narayanganj by Rab-11, reads an SMS floated to media this morning.
Meanwhile, a team of Rab last night arrested Tamal Uddin, 40, a member of another banned militant outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir from Adabor of Dhaka, Firoz Kawsar, operation officer of Rab-2, told The Daily Star this morning.
The detainee was involved in recruiting members and distributing leaflets of the banned militant outfit, the Rab official said.
Tamal used to live in a rented house in the area, he added.
He is also a fugitive in a case in 2014 under antiterrorism act filed with Mohammadpur police Station, the Rab official said.
